Upon installation, a boundary wire is buried a few inches underground around the area you want your pet to stay in. Our pet fences are usually installed using one of the following three layouts, although it is possible to customize layouts for individual yards as needed:
The Perimeter Loop:
This is our most common installation by far. With the Perimeter Loop, your entire yard is enclosed, which allows your pet to move freely between the front and back yards. To be friendly to your neighbors, the loop may be installed closer to the house on the street side.
The Hourglass:
The Hourglass layout encloses the front and back yards, but not the space in between. Your pet will be able to play freely in both the front and back yards, but will not be able to move between the two without going through the house.
The Double Loop:
The Double Loop layout encloses either the back or front yard. Typically, this is used only when a full perimeter or hourglass layout isn't possible due to landscaping or some other reason.
Along with our outdoor systems, Pet Stop offers indoor pet containment solutions as well. You can keep Fluffy off the kitchen counter and prevent Fido from ripping up your furniture! Our Indoor Transmitters features the same extremely customizable settings and features as the outdoor transmitting, and it has a special wireless option as well.
Our fences use a combination of training and technology to teach your pet to avoid the edge of the yard, gardens, or pools. The fence even works indoors, keeping your pet away from the kitchen counter or the furniture.
Here at Charleston Pet Stop we offer onsite training with certified trainers and ongoing phone support to make it easy to train your pet to their new fence. You can train as many pets as you want
on the same system, each dog needs a Micro-Programmable receiver collar. Training takes between 7 and 14 days on average.
A small receiver worn on your pet's collar picks up the coded radio signal and issues either a warning and or an immediate electronic stimulation (depends on chosen settings) to teach your pet to
avoid the boundary line. If you are concerned about how bad the shock is you shouldn't worry. Our shock levels are extremely adjustable, and include extremely low levels for introductory
training.
In order to keep your pet in the yard, the sensation must be one that they will want to avoid. A little shock is a whole lot better than having your beloved pet run away or get seriously
injured. Our program will focus on the positive aspects of training, and we will help you use very little correction in the training process.
Here at Charleston Pet Stop we use a revoultionary new method called Gentle Steps training. The Gentle Steps training method is an incredibly humaine and stress free method to train your dog to
their new fence.
Gentle Steps is a cutting edge training method because we use postive reinforcement. Your pet is rewarded for retreating from the boundary and uses gentle progressive/rising stimulation. The
gentle introduction makes the experience stress free for both you and your pet.
An important element of the GentleSteps method is our UltraElite™ receiver. With almost endless programming possibilities, the receiver can be programmed to match the temperament of individual
pets. You can rest assured that your pet is receiving the best training available with the least amount of correction.
